PRESIDENT
MRS. JACKIE WATSON
As the producer and radio personality of the Caribbean Experience radio program on AM 1570 WIGO, a decorated military veteran, event promoter and community leader, Jackie has dedicated a great deal of time and energy towards giving back to the community. She has spent time volunteering with the United States Census, Meals on Wheels, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Hands on Atlanta, Volunteer Tax Assistant (VITA), United Service Organization (USO), Army Community Services (ACS), Hosea Feed the Homeless/ Hungry, Association of the United States Army (AUSA) and the American Red Cross.

She has an MBA with specialization in Human Resources, dual Bachelor of Art degrees in Business Management and Human Resources. Born in St Andrew and reared in Camperdown, St Ann; Lluidas Vale, St Catherine (all in Jamaica) and Bronx, New York; Jackie has been residing in the United States since 1974.

A resident of Georgia since 2000, Jackie is a divorced mother of three adult children and the proud grandmother of two.

The Vice President slot is vacant. Master Sergeant Ahan Hunter has relocated to another state. We are looking for a dedicated, committed and hard working volunteer with managerial skills.
   
SECRETARY
MRS. VALINDA SHAW

Valinda attended Kingston Technical High School where she studied business. Thereafter, she attended Excelsior Community College and Duffs Business College. Prior to leaving Jamaica she worked for Insurance Company of the West Indies in the customer service department as an underwriter. She migrated to Paterson, New Jersey in May 2004. She then followed her dreams and departed for better opportunities in Georgia in October 2007.

Valinda is currently employed with Emory Healthcare in Decatur. She has an Associate Degree in Business Administration and is presently seeking to diversify herself by perusing a degree in Nursing. Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, she is married and the proud mother of a beautiful daughter. She enjoys football (soccer), track and field, the outdoors, and is captivated by architecture and nature. She enjoys spending a lot of time with her family.

The Hampton resident goals include getting more involved in the Caribbean and local community and doing whatever she can to help in its growth.
   
ASSISTANT SECRETARY
MRS. MADGE BUCKLE, ESQ.

Madge is recently relocated to McDonough, Georgia after residing in New Jersey for over twenty years. She is an attorney, practicing criminal law. A member of Eagles Landing Church, she enjoys attending church and spending time with her family. Madge is a native of Jamaica.
   
TREASURER
MRS. RUBY EDWARDS-THOMPSON

As the oldest child, Ruby gives credit to her wonderful mother for her many accomplishments. She was born in Jamaica and has two sisters and a brother. After completing most of her schooling, she migrated to Queens, New York where, she lived for twenty-five years. She was employed with Woolworth in Green Acres Mall and later pursued a career in banking at Citibank for over twenty years; before moving to Georgia with her two beautiful daughters and handsome son. Ruby currently lives in Fayetteville with her children Chantel, Shanice, and David. Her proudest accomplishment is seeing them excel in school. Ruby was recently married to Mr. Mark Thompson.

 

ASSISTANT TREASURER
MR. DONALD LYKEN

Donald Lyken was born in Georgetown Guyana on the 29th October 1951. After graduating from high school, he joined the Guyana Defense Force and worked in the Financial Department for eight years. In 1983 he migrated to the Island of Barbados where he worked in finance and International Import/Export. In 1987 he migrated to the United States, after which he was employed at Chase Manhattan Bank Metro tech in Brooklyn for five years, then joined Citibank as a Network Compliance Officer . Part of his educational pursuit in the US involves attending Kaplan University with studies in the area of accounting. Donald moved to Georgia in 2004 and is currently an employee of Home Depot.

 

PUBLIC RELATIONS DIRECTOR
MR. LAWRENCE PRESCOTT
Lawrence originates from Georgetown, Guyana. Besides devoting his time and talents to CAG, he is employed with Marta and also Air Tran. Lawrence is married and the proud father of two children. He enjoys photography and traveling to various regions around the world.

   
ASSISTANT PUBLIC DIRECTOR
MS. NATASHA BOZEMAN

A multi linguist, Natasha originates from San Fernando, Trinidad, West Indies where she developed her interest for traveling and learning multiple languages. She now calls Atlanta home. Besides English, she has the ability to communicate in Spanish, French, Chinese and German. Natasha graduated from Georgia State and received a BA in Marketing. She is presently employed at Solution Architect. When she is not working or volunteering, Natasha enjoys eating fish and listening to her favorite Bob Marley classics.

 

SERGEANT AT ARMS
MR. HUGH. G. COOPER, ESQ.

Mr. Cooper is Jamaican born and reared in St. Ann and in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A 1983 Distinguished Military Graduate of LaSalle University ROTC program, he served for a combined period of over twenty-one years in the U.S. Army & U.S. Army Reserves retiring in 2005 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

A 1996 graduate of Temple University School of Law, Hugh has served in a variety of legal positions in Clayton County; including Judge Pro Tem for the Clayton County Juvenile Court, Assistant District Attorney, Appellate Court Staff Attorney, Law Clerk and Solo Practitioner. Hugh currently operates the Law Office of Hugh G. Cooper, LLC in Clayton County, GA.
